So my kiddo Christian has had long hair for several years... I think we were going on 3-4 years, at least since 7th grade sometime! He's a sophomore now! Can I just say the he's a handsome kid, (yes I know that I am partial) and I personally have liked his hair for the most part! Last weekend he mentions several times that he's been thinking about cutting it... of course Chris can barely contain his excitement because he has hated the long hair... doesn't matter that it was the style, he HATED it! As a matter of fact, I knew that he would be disappointed if all the talk was just talk.
So he came home from school on Monday to go to the doctor, which we find out that he has strep throat... but he's still talking about a haircut. I realize that I probably need to encourage him to make a decision and act once he does... strep or not! He finally says... "lets do this"... so this momma acted! Course, then he got nervous! Needless to say, he got through it and actually loves his new hair!
I still cant get over how much older and mature he looks! Yesterday we went to the DPS and got his permit... my sweet little boy is not so little anymore! I sure love this kid, he is precious in every way. I cant wait to see where he is going to go!
What??? Well my handsome hubby started a new job a few months ago... I think I probably mentioned it. Anyways, he had to go our CPA (that's right, we now have a CPA) yesterday and set up to pay our quarterly taxes. EEK! Well he came away from that meeting with an S Corp. What is that you ask? Well I looked it up on Google and it was a little confusing... so, what it means for us is less taxes and more money in the savings! WOO HOO!!!
Its an exciting time in our household! I am proud of Chris and the new opportunities coming our way. God has truly blessed us and I know its only the beginning!
Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
So its Friday... and for most people that just means its the last work day before the weekend, normally that's all it is for me too but... this Friday is important because its the first Friday night high school football game of the season... Which is one of my very most favorite things.
I LOVE me so Friday night football!!!
I think it just runs deep in most people from West Texas but for me its really deep. I grew up going to football games. I have memories from elementary school going to football games. I love the atmosphere, I love watching those boys play with everything in them, I love the band, I love the crowds excitement, I think I just love everything about it! I even love it when its freezing outside and I cant feel my hands or my butt cause its so cold... It doesn't even have to be my alma mater or Chris' for that matter. I will always cheer for OHS (Go Bronchos) but now I am a MHS Bulldog all the way!
There's just something about the game that makes me happy! One of mine and Chris' first dates was to a high school football game! (its probably why I fell for him!!) I love that its something we enjoy together!
The interesting thing is that when God blessed me with 3 very amazing boys somehow they didn't get my love of football... Really! However I did get a Friday night lights drummer which is the next best thing... My Christian is on the Midland High Drumline and he just so happens to be pretty darn good!
this is from last year
Needless to say... the next couple of months, my Fridays will be awesome! I always look forward to school starting just because I know that means I will get to go watch football!
Geez, it felt like I was never gonna get home and stay home. I had 2 conferences back to back with about 48 hours home in between. Just enough time to make sure my munchkins had all they needed for their first day of school which I missed. My baby is a 3rd grader, OMG... Christian is a sophomore... Lord have mercy... I am getting old!
So I was in New Orleans for a 4 days, where it was hot and sticky... this West Texas girl can take the heat but not the humidity... It was a good conference, just busy. I did however discover Geo-caching and like it A LOT! So much so, that I've drug my family on several hunts since I've been home! Here's how my 48 hours home went... got off the plane, unpacked, met the teacher, did laundry, checked off school supply lists, loved on the hubby, packed and headed to Corpus Christi for 5 days. Where it was once again, hot and sticky! Yuck... Another busy conference. I guess that's what I get for being on so many committees! Oh well. The great news is that this will be the last time I have to miss a first day of school since this conference is moving to April! Yay!
So now I am back home, doing the normal routine, catching up on laundry, TV and work! Its good to be back with my precious family. Now its band and 3rd grade homework that's keeping me busy but I wouldn't have it any other way. Love love love my life!
